If you are new to my substack, you may not know that I am building a wall in response to this administration, a drawing a day until it ends one way or another.
Hi Cindy! I just love seeing your illustrations and the overall wall updates. This is such a creative way to deal with the insanity. It truly has reached far more unhinged and horrific levels beyond what I fathomed years ago. Congrats on your upcoming opening and I look forward to reading your essay!
My sister and I are planning tonight's Passover seder, and it occurred to me that Trump and his lot are our new Egypt. We have one "plague" at our disposal to free us—something that is totally abhorrent to Trump et al—and that's the November election. This Pharaoh of ours knows that the election is the worst possible plague that can be visited upon him, so the question is increasingly, not will he thwart it, but how? Our "No Kings!" marches, our version of "Let my people go," can only go so far. I'm trying to think of the appropriate square on your amazing wall, Cindy. (Sorry to be depressing and dampering out loud.)
Wish all holidays could be banned until we have a new administration . Never cared for any of them anyway , now they're more depressing than ever . It feels like after major disasters and no one tells jokes because it's " too soon ." Our current country situation is a natural disaster on a daily basis .
Thank you, Stephanie. I'm really hoping to end it with a few weeks of joyful drawings. A week of fireworks and rainbows if something finally ends this nightmare.
This becomes more and more inspiring, amazing, permanent, responsive , relevant, necessary …
Ginny, thank you so much.
So remarkably ambitious and committed, I can't imagine. But love it.
Wow, thank you, Francine. That's so nice.
“cankles are fun to draw” literally made me lol. the end is near. it *has* to be .
Thank you! I was hoping someone would laugh.
i wanted to say, “perhaps one day drawing a casket will be unexpectedly fun to draw too” but that seemed too dark. 🙈🙊🙉
Oh, I'm here for it.
imma start building a playlist…

I support this.
just listening to it, I and imagining makes me feel joy.

Don't be sorry! I welcome all depressing talk. And I like your take on this. Happy Passover.

Damper for sure. That is an exquisite crankle but at the same time it made me want to barf.
Ha. I know what you mean.
I’d love a print of this in its completion please. Absolutely love.

Thank you, Rebecca.
